The word 'luggage' seems to be a burden to most of us. Well of course luggage is heavy, always heavy, no matter where we go, how long we stay.

We want to carry our entire world with us to our destination. We indeed go with a perfectly packed bag but whilst returning we get stuck with less packing space. 

Does that mean we need big suitcases every time we go somewhere? Definitely not!
We need to carry the perfect type of luggage bag according to our trip.
Now, I will briefly categorize the types of bags available in the market :

A trolley bag, trolley suitcase or luggage trolley is a large luggage bag, with handles and wheels attached to it. This makes it easier to carry while you travel. Buying the perfect trolley bag could be a little difficult. So you need to learn about a few factors before making a purchase.

Trolley bags are available in three sizes :

• Small - (up to 59 c.m and around 21-22")

These are also known as cabin sizes, which one can easily carry on a business trip or on a short trip. This is suitable for a single person.

• Medium - (up to 60-64 c.m and 24-26") 

This is the best available size. you can easily carry the luggage of 2-3 persons for a Short trip or even a longer one.

• Large - ( up to 70 c.m or more and around 28-30")

I barely recommend buying a large size. This one is so huge and becomes quite heavy after putting your stuff inside. Although if you have to carry a lot of stuff with you for long days you can go for the large size.

 Two wheels versus four-wheel trolley 

Trolley bags either have two wheels in the front or four wheels on all sides. Two wheelers are little less expensive than four-wheelers. Some people say two wheels are easier to carry on road walks and on uneven surfaces. 

My personal recommendation is to always choose the four wheels. The four-wheeled trolleys are called spinner as they rotate on 360-degree angle that is a complete twist. Thus you can move it on all directions forward-backwards and sideways. They can be used as two wheels as well just by tilting the bag in front. You can even make it stand on itself whereas you can't make a two-wheeled trolley stand on itself.

To conclude, it is the right choice to go for four-wheeled trolleys but in case of a budget issue, you must go for two wheels.

How to choose between hard and soft luggage?

Hard shells are more durable than the soft one. They are made up of polycarbonate, aluminium, polypropylene etc. These materials make the trolleys lighter in weight hence easier to carry. Hard shells provide more security and prevent from slitting and theft. It will not even break if you drop it or if it falls from a height. 

You might face a day on your trip with heavy rainfall, mud on the street or even snowfall. These bags will be a  saviour that day. The objects inside the suitcase always remain safe.

On the other hand, soft case luggage has chances to get slit. The good part about this one is that it comes with lots of pockets and expandable section. Hence provides more packing space.

Which is the best brand for trolley suitcase bags?

All leading brands are good enough and provide maximum protection and durability. Although never go for non branded Trolley bags as you might end up on the road with broken wheels!

2. Duffel Bags

Duffle bags are easier to handle when you have to move around a lot with the luggage from train bus etc. This is best for casual trips or a week and visit to your relatives! These bags have a sufficient amount of packing space.

Nowadays duffels even come with roller wheels  and a handle attached to it. This one is a great choice to buy. you can carry the bag easily on your shoulder or in your hands.
Duffels without roller wheels needs to be carried only on shoulder. As a result, you might have painful shoulders and red marks if it is too heavy. This is the place where people prefer trolleys over duffels.
But I must say roller duffels are a much better choice over two wheeled trolley.

Well, duffle bags of good brand are made of high-quality fabric. Still, it is fragile and can get tampered or split. It also has less protection and chances of theft. Hence it is advisable to go for lockable tips for safety.
