What is the best and safe baby product?

Did you watch the movie Tinkerbell? It says, 'when a baby laughs for the first time, a little fairy is born'. That's a sweet thought, isn't it? Babies are the most wonderful creation of nature. They are soft and delicate. So why should we put them in danger by overlooking and blindly trusting whatever is sold in the market?

Harmful chemicals in skincare & bathing products

We strongly believe those baby products are the most delicate ones. I have seen, some young women apply these products to get a soft and supple skin. But it is a lamentable truth that even the most popular brands have harmful chemicals in their baby product.

List of bad chemicals - Sodium hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Paraben, Isopropyl Palmitate, Dimethicone, Alcohol, Mineral Oil, and fragrance are some of the bad chemicals that are included in baby products.
Other chemicals are polyethylene, polyethylene glycol, sodium laureth sulfate, ceteareth, oleth, oxynol,- xynol, PEG, triclosan, 1,4 dioxane, Oxybenzone, and Formaldehyde are all harmful and toxic chemicals found in many baby products.

These chemicals were first used several years ago, and later on, scientists found them to be toxic and harmful through various test results. In spite of the fact, most companies are still using those ingredients. These chemicals cause severe diseases such as cancer, asthma, a neurodevelopmental disorder, fertility problems.
It is advisable to avoid baby products which contains too much of the chemicals listed.

Why are mineral oil and fragrance harmful chemicals?

Mineral oil may sound like a very healthy ingredient but it is not. It has cancer-causing agents according to WHO. It is a colorless, odorless oil made from petroleum. 
On the other hand, fragrance added to every product is a mixture of at least 14 harmful chemicals.  The companies never disclose the ingredient list behind the term 'fragrance'.  A sweet fragrance in baby products might be very attractive but it is equally harmful. Rather more harmful for your baby.

Which baby product should I buy?


Consult your doctor before experimenting anything on your baby's gentle skin. Always check the expiry date before you purchase. It is better to buy products that have been manufactured recently.
Do not use newly launched products on your baby. Buy organic products for your toddler.
Good and safe chemicals in baby products - However alcohol is bad for skin, Cetyl Alcohol and Stearyl Alcohol are good chemicals. Milk protein, hydrolyzed rice bran protein, titanium dioxide are all good chemicals, that cause no harm to the baby's skin.

Environmental Working Group (EWG) is an American organization, that has a verification program, for beauty and personal care products. Thus they are safe to use.
